Seidr is an old Northern European way of folk magic with strong shamanic qualities. As documented in the Norse sagas, the word Völva refers to a wand or staff carrier who practiced the Seidr arts. Practitioners were called Völvas or Seidrkonas if female and Seidr-madr if male. Soul retrieval, in an animistic model, is the journey of mending the fragmented Self to reclaim our essence back to wholeness.
